When purchasing a product online, either as an individual or a business, there is a long and comprehensive decision-making process.
In today’s digital world, there are many fake products and services being advertised, making it even more difficult to determine which products we should buy. It’s for this reason that genuine product reviews are so important, as they play a crucial role in building trust with potential buyers.
At Creative Monarchy we plan and produce product-review videos for our clients, helping them not only demonstrate the value of their product but do so in a slick and professional way.
In this article, we’ll be showing you our process, and how we created this product-review for EcoMove, an Electric Bike store in Bristol, UK.
EcoMove offers a wide range of electric bikes. For this review, we focused on their Ampere deluxe.

Producing effective product-review videos for youtube:
1. Know your product
One of the most important things to remember is why your audience is watching your video. Viewers are looking for valuable information about the product, that’s going to help them decide whether or not it’s right for them.
Your first step in reviewing a product is to do your research and try the product for yourself… it’s a review after all! Our video presenter, Mark, not only tried and tested the Ampere Deluxe bike for himself, but he also compared the bike to other models including the Ampere Hilux, and Ampere Alter.
By trying the brand’s other models, Mark could easily identify key talking points. It also makes our product- review more authentic, genuine, and most importantly informative for the viewer, as Mark could draw from his real experience.
2. It’s NOT a sales Pitch!
That leads us to our next point. Remember not to sound too salesy! The sole purpose of product-reviews is to build credibility. The moment viewers feel it’s too salesy or a paid review they’ll be bound to move to another reviewer who sounds genuine.
It’s also important to talk about both the pros and cons of the product to make your review more authentic. Research what the brand is working on and what they plan to do next and use these as positive spins on a negative comment. For example “ whilst the display is not the best I’ve seen, the brand is looking at releasing a new version soon”
3. Plan Your Video & Script
To ensure you cover everything that you want to, without missing any key aspects of the product that you’re reviewing, product review videos need a proper script.
Focus on the core features of the product rather than trying to cover everything in a single review. Make sure to practice your video and don’t worry if you require a few takes to get it right!
4. Focus on your product!
People search for product review videos so they can get a better look at the product in reality. It’s the urge to see the product put to use that drives users to product review videos.
So in order to keep your viewers engaged keep the content minimal and ensure the review is more of a real-time demonstration and explanation of the actual product.
5. Editing your video
People nowadays have an attention span that is shorter than that of a goldfish! Viewers don’t have the patience to watch a video that’s longer than 5 minutes.
You should aim to have a video that’s less than that in order to keep your viewers engaged the whole time and not lose their attention.
